Biobased energy/electricity and biobased chemicals go hand in hand: For our biobased chemicals business, we recover the hemicellulose, which leaves the remaining lignocellulose for conversion into energy products, such as electricity, steam or ethanol.
Biobased Energy
We are currently developing biomass to electricity projects in South Africa and in Turkey. In Turkey we're using olive residue as feedstock and in South Africa we selected corncobs (and sugar cane trash).
The Chimera™ (see dalinyebo.com) development is specifically aimed at harnessing energy from cane trash and especially our corncobs based projects (see Cobelec™) are designed for integration with a biorefinery such as the GreenEnergyPark™.
